Kirkstone Quarry

This was collaboration with Tim Soar to make images of the workers at Kirkstone Quarry and show them within the context of the environment in which they work. This presented a unique and challenging environment in which to use the wet plate collodion process but the synergy between the project and process has a historical context. I learnt a great deal working with Tim and the process of involvement of the individual workers.

Scottish Photographers At Inversnaid

Scottish Photographers are an eclectic group of individuals that meet 3-4 times a year in a number of geographical locations across Scotland to discuss images and project based image making – it is not a forum for discussing cameras, printers and processes.  I have set myself a project to photograph those with whom I come into contact with if they are agreeable to collaborate with me to allow an image to be made. These were made at the Inversnaid Gathering 2009

Family, Friends & Visitors

One can, and should, never pass up the opportunity of making images of those that are important to them. Using the wet plate process allows for a unique moment in which time is taken to engage in the making of an image in which the sitter is very much involved no matter how much I, as the image taker, makes the exposure. Some of these images may not be perfect but are important and may have significant memories attached.

East Hallside Farm

A new gallery of images from East Hallside Farm all made during 2009 and made using the wet plate collodion process. It is hope that this gallery will be added to during 2010 and will form the basis of an exhibition in the near future.
